BHMI Currently Interviewing For Summer Intern Session

Peter Kiewit InstituteBaldwin Hackett & Meeks, Inc. (BHMI) is currently accepting applications for its Summer Intern Session.  As a way of reaching qualified intern candidates, BHMI will be participating in the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Spring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) Career Fair. 

The University invited employers in the Omaha area to participate in this event scheduled for Tuesday, March 5th from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m at the Scott Conference Center. BHMI is specifically seeking students for Software Development Summer Internships that begin in May and end in mid-August.

BHMI Seeking Business Analyst/Software Design Engineer

BHMI currently has an opening for a Business Analyst/Software Design Engineer who will participate in product design and engineering for the Concourse Financial Software Suite™. Additionally, this position will include analyzing and engineering solutions to meet unique customer requirements. BHMI is seeking a talented, motivated, and self-directed individual who can work effectively in a team environment.

The candidate will need a minimum of five years of experience in back office processing for electronic payment transaction processing and possession of at least two of the following types of experience:

  • Experience in back office processing of electronic payment transactions with an emphasis on payments initiated via debit or credit cards
  • Familiarity with financial system balancing with regard to regional/national network business day differences
  • Experience with debit network regulations
  • Experience with settlement outputs; i.e., ACH, Swift, and wire transfer
  • Comprehensive knowledge of clearing and settlement formats and processing

A complementary BA or BS degree is desirable but not required.

BHMI Honors Employees at Scott Scholar Alumni Dinner

The 4th Annual Scott Scholar Alumni Dinner will be held on Friday, Oct. 19th at the Thompson Alumni Center on the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) campus.

Scott Scholar Alumni are previous recipients of the Scott Scholarship, which is the most prestigious scholarship extended by the University of Nebraska’s Peter Kiewit Institute (PKI).  Located on the UNO campus, PKI is a premiere 21st-century high-technology learning and research institute. PKI is home to approximately 1800 undergraduate and graduate students and 110 faculty from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s College of Engineering and UNO’s College of Information Science and Technology (IS&T).

The Scott Scholar Alumni Organization (SSAO) was formed by alumni striving to build on what Mr. and Mrs. Scott started through their generosity.  The group’s objective is to bring together graduates of the Walter Scott Jr. Scholarship Program of the Peter Kiewit Institute, promoting professional networking, social interaction, and support for PKI and its endeavors.  Funds raised from this event has gone toward new equipment at PKI, an etiquette dinner for undergraduate students, and a graduate student scholarship.

Open QA Engineer Position

BHMI currently has an opening for a QA Engineer who has experience with the software development lifecycle and in the testing of complex software applications.

This position needs a self-directed team player who can work effectively in a team environment and who has the following characteristics:

  • Ability to define, develop, and implement test plans
  • Experience in utilizing automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts and data sets
  • Ability to recommend and utilize in-house developed test tools where these do not exist in the commercial off-the-shelf market
  • Discipline to follow the change management process to ensure that all items are entered and tracked through the change management software product
  • Ability to define scope and objectives of all levels of QA testing
  • Ability to perform hands-on testing across all aspects of the software including functional, regression, load, system, security, and user interface testing
  • Ability to work with developers to ensure the software development process has an appropriate level of testing to resolve defects
  • Ability to provide input into resource planning, management, and resolution of issues that impede test efforts
  • Ability to create effective manual and automated test plans, using a variety of toolsets
  • Ability to validate product and project documentation as being accurately descriptive of the software product and its features and functions
